 Dialogue Interpreting

HOW IT WORKS

WHAT IT IS

My job remains that of delivering the speakers' message in a complete and reliable way, enhancing communication and overcoming language and culture barriers.

The only tools I need are a notebook and a pen, other than an excellent background knowledge of the topic.

In principle, dialogue interpreting involves three people: speaker of language A, speaker of language B and interpreter. There can also be more participants, however the number is usually low because of its very nature, more "intimate". With respect to conference interpreting, DI sees much shorter turn-taking, 1-2 minutes maximum, and a more rapid conversation flow.

IN PERSON

REMOTELY

Dialogue interpreting is very well-suited to video-calls (e.g. Skype, Zoom) and to phone calls (although it is always advisable to see the speakers as 55% of communication is nonverbal). For instance, DI is appropriate for legal counseling, real estate negotiations and the like because it is easy, fast and effective.

Because of its very nature, more "intimate", it works very well for in-person meetings: considering that potentially any domain in our life can have people speaking different languages than our own, DI too can be applied to any domain.

Do you need an interpreter or a translation?

Or maybe a linguistic consultation?

Don't worry, just write me and we'll figure it out together.
